Ramblings about a whole lot of different things
The pentagon commissioned a report to analyze whether there was a link between pre-war Iraq and Al Qaeda, and reportedly they found no such link (big surprise). After the completion of the report, they announced that they wouldn’t be posting the report on the internet, and instead would mail CDs to people who requested them. This was widely reported on the internet, and made several large social bookmarking sites as well:
I was interested in hearing about the issue in more depth, so I went ahead and requested a copy of the report in CD form. Since there wasn’t a published method for requesting a report, I typed the request into the Joint Forces Command online contact form. To my surprise, I got an almost immediate reply that said “We’ll get it out soonest.”
Today, I got an email from them essentially saying that they changed their minds and have released the report online afterall:
